petOffenders is a permanent, searchable record of reported animal cruelty, neglect, abandonment, and repeated surrender, built so that what you report today is still findable years from now, long after a social-media post about it would have scrolled away.
It is open to everyone. You don’t need an account, and you don’t have to give your name. Animal cruelty is a felony in all fifty states, prosecuted under the law of the state where it happened. The record you need is a state record, and this is where they live, wherever you are.
Why report here
Posting about a case in a Facebook group does something that matters. Word travels fast, and that saves animals. But a group is a conversation, and conversations end. In three days the post is buried; in a few months no one can find it: not you, not the next neighbor, not the investigator who finally asks. The situation repeats, and nothing remembers.
A record does not scroll. Filing here puts what you saw somewhere permanent and searchable, so the next person who needs to know can actually find it.
In the most recent year published, 22,418 animal-cruelty offenses were recorded in the FBI’s National Incident-Based Reporting System nationwide, 406 of them in Louisiana. Most never end up anywhere you could look them up.

What you can report
Abuse, neglect, abandonment, and repeated surrender, for any animal that belongs to someone. Dogs, cats, horses, birds, rabbits, reptiles, small mammals, and livestock kept as pets are all in scope. If it’s somebody’s animal and it’s being hurt, it belongs on the record.

What everyone else sees
The public only ever sees anonymized map dots and statistics. Never your identity, and never a person’s private information. If law enforcement requests it, we can provide a complete, verified case file. That is the only path to the full record.
Before you report
Your safety comes first. Observe. Do not intervene, and do not approach or confront the person involved. If an animal is in immediate danger, contact your local law enforcement or animal control first, then put it on the record here so it isn’t forgotten.
Who’s behind it
petOffenders is a project of Louisiana Husky Rescue, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and not a company. Every report is read by a real person, nothing is sold, and no one profits from what you file. We are not a law-enforcement agency. We’re rescue people who got tired of watching the same situations disappear and repeat.
